Talking about something that is annoying… The constant barrage of anti-Republican and highly political messages here! Don’t get me wrong. I don’t like the GOP… I don’t like Sarah Palin but it would be nice to see basic annoying topics here like…. Shoe laces that never stay tied or the call procedures at the DMV.. I’ve been a member of this site for 6 months and joined because I loved the inane annoyances.. For political banter I can go to CNN.com, the Onion, The SmirkingChimp, Buzzflash, NewsMax…. and the list goes on… Leave politics where they belong.. on their own trashy sites….

The Franklin Park Zoo in Boston claims that it will have to close down both the Franklin Zoo and the Stone Zoo in Stoneham within six months if additional funds are not provided. Currently they are funded by the State of Massachusetts, private donations and money raised from attractions.
It further stated that it will attempt to find a home for all its animals but up to 20% may not be placed and may have to be euthanized.
I can’t believe that they can not find homes for all their animals in other zoos in the US, Canada and elsewhere.
Are they seriously talking about killing perfectly healthy animals because they can’t place them? or is this just a threat to raise money and keep the zoos open?

David Santuomo, an Ohio firefighter decided to take his two dogs into his basement and shoot them 11 times because he didn’t want to pay to have them boarded while he went on vacation.
He wraped the dogs up and threw them into the trash behind the firehouse. His fellow firefighters turned him in after he started bragging about it.
The laws governing such disgusting crimes in Columbus, Ohio are hard to understand. He was charged with two misdemeanors. The first is the improper killing of a companion animal and the second is a felony for possession of a criminal tool. He created the silencer on the rifle he used for the killings.
The improper killing of a companion animal. What kind of law is that?? I can understand euthanizing a dog who is suffering and dying but is there a proper way to kill a companion animal if he/she is ..continue reading
We visited friends of ours last week who own a working farm. They have a large barn with several horses. Our friends had speakers installed there to play classical music for the animals. They felt that it had a soothing affect on them.
I thought it was a good idea. They told me that they read a story of a woman in England that was doing the same for the last twenty years, playing classical music from a radio station to her horses. Then one day she received a notice from the Performing Rights Society stating that she had to get a license to play the music since she had a few employees and that made her a commercial enterprise the same as cafes and bars that play commercial music and playing music in her barn was considered a performance.
How stupid is that?
It looks like PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) has lost it. A fly was bothering President Obama during and interview at the White House on Tuesday. The President tried to persuade it to go away by saying “Get out of here” but when it kept bothering him he smashed it.
PETA was unhappy with this and decided to send the Presdient a Katcha Bug Humane Bug Catcher, a device that allows users to trap a house fly and then release it. It went on to state ”We support compassion even for the most curious, smallest and least sympathetic animals,” PETA spokesman Bruce Friedrich said Wednesday. “We believe that people, where they can be compassionate, should be, for all animals.” While PETA is happy with Obama’s voting record on animal rights Friedrich said ”swatting a fly on TV indicates he’s not perfect”.
My family has supported PETA in some of its ..continue reading
