The enlightened Saudis

Our friends the Saudis are intent on ruling their country using fear and torture.
Saturday a Saudi court sentence a female journalist to 60 lashes because she was involved with a TV show in which a Saudi man talked about sex. He did not perform any sexual acts he only talked about his sex life.
The journalist, Rozanna al-Yami, 22, who is a coordinator for the program claims that she was not involved in that particular episode.
While the man who appeared on the show and 3 others who also appeared and talked about sex were also convicted and sentenced to jail time and lashings there is no mention of any senior male producer or director of the show receiving any sentence.
I wonder if there would be worldwide condemnation of the barbaric Saudi government if it were not for the Saudi oil.
Will we ever forget the close relationship that Bush had with the Saudi royal family, holding hands with the royal prince, basically willing to overlook their human atrocities. Hopefully the Obama administration will speak out against this latest incident.
