Republicans and conservatives always claim that they own the rights to certain words.
In recent years it was security, homeland defense and patriotism. The Republicans wanted Americans to believe that they know more about these, they are the only ones who understand these.
Of course this is pure bull.
Now their latest word game is terrorism, terrorists, war on terror and counterterrorism.
They have been pounding Obama since the attempted airline attack on Christmas Day. Obama can not bring himself to say the word terrorism, does not believe in the war on terror and on and on.
They are using the same tactics they used for months in lying to Americans about health care reform.
Repeat the lies over and over again and more and more people will believe it is true.
Unfortunately this is the truth in this country. Especially for those who depend on Fox news for their information.
The reality is that President Obama has used the words terrorism, terrorist and counterterroism as related to this incident since it was determined that this was an actual attempted attack.
Obama has given speeches denouncing this terrorist act and it is clear to anyone who is listening that the Republicans are just using this as a way to try to convince Americans that they are the Party that will keep us safe and that no one else can.
In their efforts to paint Obama as weak on defense they appear to have completely forgotten Bush’s response to the failed attempt of the shoe bomber.
Bush failed to acknowledge the attempt by Richard Reid (the shoe bomber) for six days.
So much for defense of the homeland by the Republicans.
