It is hard to understand how James Carville and Mary Matalin can live in the same house without killing each other.
thinkprogress reports that on CNN yesterday Matalin compared Democrats who are pressing for health care reform to jihadists.
She said “They’ve been on this jihad for 70 years, and they’re going to throw over all their competitive seats to do it” and added ”I don’t know what kind of party that is. That leaves left in the Democratic Party the urban centers, this is tyranny of the minority. Two-thirds of the country don’t want this. And one-third of these jihadists, these health care jihadists do. I guess that’s how democracy in the Obama era works.”
Matalin didn’t stop there. She continued “They’re going to strip out all the few good things that are ..continue reading
It took Dobbs long enough to figure out that CNN viewers and probably most of CNN’s management was fed up with his immigrant bashing.
Dobbs announced last night that he is leaving (quiting) immediately (sort of like Palin).
He thinks he has better things to do although he didn’t elaborate he may wind up with that fake news network (FOX) or he may run for elected office. I am sure there are plenty of right wingnuts out there who would love to support Dobbs.
This is Dobbs’ official good bye:
“Over the past six months, it has become increasingly clear that strong winds of change have begun buffeting this country and affecting all of us, and some leaders in media, politics and business have been urging me to go beyond the role here at CNN and to engage in constructive problem-solving as well as to contribute positively to a better understanding of the great ..continue reading
It turns out that Alex Castellanos who has appeared on many CNN programs as a “contributor” is nothing more than an insurance industry shill.
Castellanos who is a Republican has a political consulting firm called National Media.
While Castellanos appeared on CNN many times to discuss health care reform his consulting company was the ad buyer for the insurance industry group America’s Health Insurance Plan’s (AHIP) new ad blitz attacking Democratic health reform plans. Several days ago AHIP released its flawed report that states that premiums will rise if the Senate bill is enacted.
thinkprogress reported that while appearing on CNN Castellanos received $434,336 from the Republican National Committee for media work since July.
We all know where the RNC stands on health care reform. Michael Steele reminds us each day of their position.
CNN released a statement “CNN will be vigilant in our efforts to ensure both their affiliations and potential conflicts of interest are ..continue reading
CNN has been losing its status as a premier news source for a while now. At least in my opinion. It has become an irritating channel. I find myself watching other stations or using the Internet more frequently these days. This weekend it has again proved to be less then stellar in its “reporting” of the Iran crises. They basically had little to say and said it over and over again. At one point they had reporters interviewing other reporters. I find some of their on screen anchors/reporters, etc. annoying.
It is interesting that others feel the same way. I saw an article by Bill Mann on the Huffington Post that chose the 5 most annoying CNN staffers. they include:
Lou Dobs, Ali Velshi, Rick Sanchez, T.J. Holmes and Soledad O’Brien.
I would add Nancy Grace at the top of the list. She is unbearable.
