It appears that there is no end to the idiotic tactics from the right to kill Obama’s health-care and other initiatives.
A group calling itself Citizens for the Republic is now asking Americans to join its Obama’s Enemies List. This is purportedly in response to the Democrats and Obama pushing back on the fake mobs showing up and disrupting townhall meeting so that meaningful discussions about health-care can not take place and the lies spread via email and various websites.
The White House requested that Americans who see disinformation about health-care alert them by forwarding emails received or providing links to websites disseminating false information.
The Republicans and right wingnuts are now turning this into fake outrage that they are being watched and tracked by the Obama administration.
This is truly laughable after the Bush wiretapping fiasco.
In any case, in an effort to scare Americans (since that is what the right does best) Stephen Manfredi, Executive ..continue reading
Last week John Cornyn, Republican Senator from Texas stated that we need to continue the F-22 program (even though the plane has been plagued with problems and the Pentagon didn’t want it) because the US is facing threats from countries including India. His aide later clarified that Cornyn made a mistake he meant to say China.
China?? China is now a military threat to the US in Republican minds? Is this why we wind up in mindless wars?
And then we have the icing on the cake from the party of the dumb.
Representative Neil Abercrombie of Hawaii introduced a resolution in the House “Recognizing and celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the entry of Hawaii into the Union as the 50th State”. the resolution includes the line “Whereas the 44th President of the United States, Barack Obama, was born in Hawaii…”
Clear cut. No problem. Resolutions like this pass frequently in the House. But ..continue reading
There should be a dumb and dumber award each year for the dumbest act performed during the year. It is annoying that people are as stupid as this pair.
Two men ages 18 and 22 were picked up Friday in the Bronx, NY for drinking and disorderly. They were taken to the local station-house, given summonses and released.
The pair who were annoyed decided they would get even with the police and went to a gas station across the street from the station-house and bought a can of motor oil.
They crossed the street and set fire to a police car right in front of the NYPD station-house.
The surveillance camera at the gas station has them on video buying the oil and several people saw them torching the car.
I didn’t think this was possible but there appears to be someone dumber than Congresswoman Michele Bachmann. And unfortunately for women everywhere it is another woman. Her name is Sylvia Allen and she is a State Senator from Arizona.
During a hearing in which she supported uranium mining in the State she addresses enviromentalists’ concerns by stating that the Earth is 6000 years old and has been here longer than enviromental laws thus uranium mining will not affect anything.
Does she realize how dumb she is? Apparently not. Someone should explain to her that through the radioactive decay of uranium we know that the Earth is billions of years old.
Ther Republicans must be very proud to have people like Palin, Bachmann and now Senator Allen on their team.
Why do Republicans or for that matter Democrats feel the need to laud their predecessors when everyone knows they were major losers.
Maybe there should be a twist on the saying that if you don’t have anything nice to say don’t say anything at all. For these situations the saying should be don’t say anything nice if its not justified, don’t say anything at all.
Today Lt. Governor Parnell of Alaska (soon to be governor) felt the need to glorify Palin with “as she began to explain why she was doing it, I began to see it was Sarah Palin, once again, moving to put Alaska’s interest first”. And “She’s accomplished more in these two and a half years than most governors accomplish in one or two terms,” he said. “Our governor has been a great governor. She is going to be Alaska’s and is Alaska’s greatest gift to our ..continue reading
