When a company can pay a fine of $2.3 billion for illegally promoting its drugs a major bell should go off in the minds of all those opposing health care reform.


Pfizer promoted Bextra for several uses and dosages that the FDA specifically declined to approve because of safety concerns.They had to pull the drug in 2005. Pfizer also improperly promoted the anti-psychotic drug Geodon, the antibiotic drug Zyvox and the anti-epileptic drug Lyrica. Today they finalized the agreement reached in January to pay the $2.3 million fine.


How many companies can afford a $2.3 billion dollar fine and still stay in business? Where do anti-reform Americans think that $2.3 billion is coming from?


This should really be a wake up call about how much these companies are making (overcharging) and how they operate. It is time for reform, now. It is time that pharmaceuticals, insurance companies and every other company involved in ..continue reading

Republicans next scare tactic: revolution

The Republicans must be getting desperate in trying to hold back the tide of health care reform.


Now that the death panel, health care rationing and other lies are getting old they decided to roll out a new scare tactic and incite more Americans who are willing to follow them without knowing the facts.


Their latest is to scare Americans and Democrats in particular into believing that there will be a revolution if Democrats push through health care reform without bi-partisan support.


Yesterday Lamar Alexander (R-TN) said “I think that would wreck our health care system and wreck the Democratic Party if they did that. There would be a minor revolution in the country.”


Meanwhile the Republicans have no intention of passing any health care reform plan. There were only 3 Republican Senators involved in trying to get a bi-partisan bill completed. At least two of the three showed their true colors during the August ..continue reading
