John Boehner must have come up with this one.

The Republicans have a new thing to rage about.

It is the 10% tax that the new health care reform bill will impose on establishments providing indoor tanning services.

Only John Boehner who is perpetually tanned could have come up with this latest Republican outcry of foul play.

You really appreciate how stupid these Republicans are when one of them actually asks what tanning salons have to do with health care.

Anyone who has read a newspaper or watched the news knows that there is an increased risk of cancer when tanning at these salons. Oh wait, these are the same Republicans who also don’t believe in climate change. Reality and truth are meaningless to them.

As thinkprogress points out ”the International Agency for Research on Cancer “raised their warning of tanning beds from ‘probably carcinogenic to humans’ to ‘carcinogenic to humans,’” concluding that “the ultraviolet light ..continue reading

The clueless tea party

The members of the Tea Party showed this weekend that they are just out to have a good time and protest.

They will protest against anyone and anything as long as you can get them riled up. The Tea Party has decided to make these outings social events. Get together, have a beer and make noise.

The Daily Kos wrote that ”several dozen Tea Baggers held an anti-immigration rally on the steps of the Minnesota State Capitol where they were met by an only slightly smaller group of counter-protesters.”

“The highlight of the event is the speech by “Robert Erickson,” a “concerned citizen from Minneapolis.” Erickson launches into what seems like a standard red-meat anti-immigrant speech. His real intentions are betrayed only by a slight smirk. It is only when he accuses immigrants of spreading disease and then indicts them for “killing millions” with small pox that it becomes clear that the immigrants he ..continue reading

Palin shows her ignorance again

Yesterday Sarah Palin, remember the quitter, posted on Facebook that Obama’s health-care plan is “evil”. She claimed that his plan calls for the formation of a “death panel” that would deny care to the neediest.

Not only is this wrong, it is also ironic coming from a Republican. Republicans are well known for worrying or caring about the poor and neediest ;-)

“The America I know and love is not one in which my parents or my baby with Down Syndrome will have to stand in front of Obama’s ‘death panel’ so his bureaucrats can decide, based on a subjective judgment of their ‘level of productivity in society,’ whether they are worthy of health care.” said Palin

The above shows that Republicans have devolved into nothing more than a misleading propaganda organization.

Palin joins a chorus of high profile liars who are trying to mislead and scare everyday ..continue reading

Support calls from hell

I work for a software company as a customer support specialist. That means that I take calls from our customers who have problems running our software.

Most calls are not a problem and the callers have a least a basic understanding of how to operate a PC and what our software is supposed to do.

But at least once a day I get a call from someone who has no clue. Not only do they not have a clue but they are the ones who get irritated most quickly and make you feel like you are the idiot :-(

Yesterday a caller called in all upset that our software is not running. After a question or two it turned out the he forgot to turn the PC on. He was claiming that our software displayed a dark blank screen.

This morning I received a call from a woman who ..continue reading
