the Alaskan pitbull in lipstick, caribou barbie or brainless twit. The winner by mile is Sarah Palin.

PolitiFact.com, the Pulitzer Prize-winning fact-checking Web site of the St. Petersburg Times, has named Sarah Palin’s claim about “death panels” the 2009 Lie of the Year.

They should have thrown in a bonus prize for her remarks about climate change on twitter a couple of days ago.

“Copenhgen=arrogance of man2think we can change nature’s ways.MUST b good stewards of God’s earth,but arrogant&naive2say man overpwers nature”

“Earth saw clmate chnge4 ions;will cont 2 c chnges.R duty2responsbly devlop resorces4humankind/not pollute&destroy;but cant alter naturl chng”

Don’t you just love her attempt to fit in with the twitter crowd with her attempt to cram in as much stupidity into 140 characters as possible.

FOX rewrites history

The people who work for FOX seem to forget that the Internet and videos are available to fact check their statements.

A thinkprogress article notes that Bill O’Reilly and Brit Hume are the latest pair to forget that the truth is out there and history can not be re-written.

After the White House publicly accused FOX of being an arm of the Republican party Brit Hume joined Bill O’Reilly to fight back with this hilarious interchange:

O’REILLY: Now you and I came up in the old school, where we were taught as a reporter you should be skeptical of everybody. I mean, that’s your job as a reporter.

HUME: Right.

O’REILLY: To be skeptical, skeptical of the Democrats, skeptical of the Republicans. It doesn’t really matter. And I have to say that when President Bush was in trouble in Iraq, this network and this program and your program, as well, routinely, routinely hammered President Bush on ..continue reading

As reported on thinkprogress FOX launched a new website in March of this year called foxnation.

Stating its goal as “It’s Time to Say NO to Biased Media and Say YES to Fair Play and Free Speech..”

Their aim was to provide a place that maintains the ”core principles of tolerance, open debate, civil discourse and fair and balanced coverage of the news.”

The reality is that they are just another outlet for the right wing to spew it venom.

The right wingnuts and conservatives love it:

Insurance industry is trying to fool the public

Thinkprogress.org found that the insurance industry is sponsoring a town hall meeting to discuss health care reform. The moderator will be Tony Harris, CNN anchor.

The industry is providing $80,000 for this event to be held at the Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta tomorrow. The debate will feature lobbyists from the health care industry and opponents of reform.

The insurance industry is featuring these types of debates to try to fool the public into believing that they support reform while actually trying to kill any meaningful portions of whatever bill is passed, including the public option.

The staff at Thinkprogress developed the video and the chart below to show what is actually happening. Click to enlarge the chart, once the image displays you can further enlarge it by clicking on the arrows at the bottom right.
